As you can see we care about our horses very much. We have included some information about them on this page. Some of our horses have been donated and others have been purchased. A little bit about where they came from and what they are enjoying now are listed below. If you have any questions about our horses or if you are looking for a horse please don't hesitate to contact us. We often come across great horses that we simply don't have enough room for.
"Missy" is a Paint and was purchased in 1998 at 10 mos old. She was very under weight and had spent her life in a 10' x 10' area after she was weaned. She had not been handled and never had a halter or lead line on. One week after we brought her home she came down with "strangles" or "shipping fever". She had developed large abscesses that required a vet call. While she was sedated we put her first halter on her. At 3 yrs old she went for 90 days of training in Swanton, OH. After that her 4-H career started. Since then she has shown at open shows, competed at the Ohio State Fair and conquered anything she has been asked to do. She is truly an incredible horse. We are very excited to meet her baby around the middle of April 2007.
"Jack" is a Quarter Horse. He was purchased as a 4-H production project in 2004. He won many ribbons at the fair and also at the Ohio State Fair. Jack is a great horse that loves to learn and never gives up. He has a great sense of humor and lets you know when you are getting a little too serious.
"Astral" is a 20 yr. old Swedish Warmblood mare. We have never owned this breed of horse before and we are so excited to have this opportunity. She is a beautiful horse full of energy. Her foal is due June 2007. She will enjoy a little light work to stay in shape until her baby comes and then back to work she'll go. She was purchased from a facitlity in Canada. Visit their website for some interesting information and to look at some beautiful horses. www.Superiorhorse.net
"Casey" and "Sugar" are 6 yr old Quarter Horse mares. "Breezy" and "Heidi" are 6 yr old Paint mares. They have been enjoying a very quiet life together at the same farm since they were born. We purchased them this winter to train and incorporate them into our program. They each have very different personalities. they range from sweet wall flower to "queen".
Breezy is now broke to ride and adapting to living in a stall. She thinks she is pretty special. She is a pretty easy going gal and it takes a little work to get her moving. she has the legs of a jumper. So we are curious to see what she has to say about it.
Casey is a real sweet heart. She is a leader and when Jack says he wants whatever she has she helps him to "reconsider" his decision.
She has excepted everything we have thrown at her and is a very stable young lady. she will be spending some time at Quarter Horse shows this summer.
Sugar is very similar to her half sister. She is very responsive and will fun to train, too. We will also be showing her this summer.
Heidi has turned out to have a little more leader in her then we thought. She has no problem standing up for herself and even takes it upon herself to see if the grass is really greener on the other side of the fence. She is always thinking and reminds me alot of Jack in before he had some time under saddle.
"Welcome!" to our 2 new yealings! "Glow", a buckskin Quarter Horse filly and "LT", a chestnut Quarter Horse colt. Our campers will be involved with ground work on these 2 little stinkers. Glow is Hunter Under Saddle prospect and LT is a Western Pleasure prospect. Pictures coming soon. We'll also have Astral's babay and Missy's baby to "imprint".
